Design Related Experience:
• Koopman Chair Class. Spring 2006. Robert L. Peters taught at the University of Hartford as a recipient of the Hartford Art School’s Koopman Distinguished Chair in the visual arts. The studio course that Peters developed for his engagement in the visual communication design department was entitled “Cause an Effect,” and consisted of three topical modules relating to globalism and cross-cultural issues. External guest collaborators/critics for each of the sessions were invited to help achieve the aims of the program. As a result, I am now a member of the global design network, Icograda.
• Freelance with Faust Haus. Summer 2006 - present. Faust Haus includes working with print media, website design, identity branding and photography. Technical skills were taught through projects, such as building my own website. Clients include: John Robshaw Textiles, Tania Hollander Health Counseling, Smart Fitzjerrell and Delicious Vinyl.
• Designer for Hartford Sports Center Intramurals. 2006 & 2007. Job included working with the Head of Intramurals, Tyrone Fuertes, to develop an intramural event calendar. This included creating the calendar template for future use, taking pictures of intramural participants, making creative choices about the look/layout, etc.
• Freelance Graphic Designer/Production Artist with The Creative Group.
Sept. 2007 – present. Freelance has included work with the following companies: All Wrapped Up, Gillespie
and Taramax USA. Work as Creative Production Manager for Taramax USA has involved preparing catalogs, brochures, ads and other materials for print, archiving files, creating PDFs for web viewing as well as print, developing mock ups, etc.
